Hire Me.

Writer for hire (will travel).

I started my writing career in the arts with a self taught crash course in nonprofit management, public relations, grant writing, marketing and artist personality shuffling.  I'm now pretty focused on the food thing, but have written business and lifestyle articles for an long list of regional papers and magazines.  I can write pretty much anything you need, but I'm picky about the jobs I choose. If there's not a spark, I don't go on the date.  Short term projects are my thing, but I'm open to long term relationships.

The thing I dig most about writing? The awesome people I have met along the way. I have interviewed Nicholas Sparks, Sue Monk Kidd and Dorothy Benton Frank (I have a thing for authors.), and Christo and Jeanne Claude (world famous artists). I've interviewed restaurant owners, food artisans and chefs, teen heroes, athletes, artists and people who have forever changed our community and the world.  Here's a list of the credits, mags and tags:

Other not-so-hidden talents:

(I occasionally venture into whoopie pies, cakes, cookies... I have catered.)

Are you a disaster in the kitchen?  Don't have time to bake?  Are you having a party, baby shower, holiday gathering or event?  Looking forward to an hour locked in the closet with a box of cupcakes and a gallon of milk?

My cupcakes are made with all natural flavors and are not child friendly.  Yes, I said it. They are not Cookie Monster cute. I don't do Elmo.  I create amazingly flavorful cupcakes for the adult pallet.
  • Apple and Sharp Cheddar with Cinnamon Buttercream
  • Jalapeno Chocolate with Cream Cheese Icing
  • Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese
  • Chocolate Oreo with Marshmallow Fluff filling and Buttercream Icing
  • Lemon with Lemon Curd Butter Cream filling topped with a Lemon Tart
  • Gorgonzola Maple with Pecans and Maple Cream Cheese Icing.
  • Margarita
  • Egg Nog
  • Maple with Burbon Buttercream and Candied Bacon
  • Dark Chocolate Cabernet
  • Pumpkin with Cream Cheese
  • Pecan Pie with Cinnamon Cream Cheese
  • the list goes on and on... I usually have some in the freezer but special orders are the norm.
I occasionally revert to the liquor cabinet for culinary inspiration: a splash here or there.  Sometimes there is candied bacon involved. I don't do vegan. I don't do healthy.  These aren't your mamma's cupcakes. You may moan a bit, so eating them in public is not recommended.
