I went to the Travelers Rest Farmers Market this morning in search of figs. No figs. But it wasn't unproductive. I chatted with some friends and local farmers and did meet a very nice couple who live close by who have some fig trees. I will be going there later today for a pickin'. I did buy a fresh Baguette from the Simple Gifts: Old-World Artisan Breads booth. With a little basil and tomatoes from the porch, some fig balsamic vinegar (Oil and Vinegar in Mt. Pleasant) and a few chunks of Parmesan cheese, I had a nice pre-lunch snack! |
